Secure your copy of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith today!

Filed under:

For those of you interested in the upcoming Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, you can ensure your copy will be set aside from Red Octane’s official website when the flood of loyal Steven Tyler fans remember to buy it after taking their Alzheimer’s medication.

No, we joke. We wouldn’t want to offend people with Alzheimer’s by insinuating they would want to play a dedicated Aerosmith Guitar Hero game, which actually also features artists that inspired and are inspired by the band.

Set to hit stores this June, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith brings GH fans closer to a band that is known for their … vocals. Wait, we still don’t get it. OK, Aerosmith is cool enough but they’re staple band member is the singer not the guitarist. In fact we don’t even know who the guitarist is but we assume he’s the guy holding the guitar in the header above. Else, that could be a roadie doing some sound tests. Wait, I think Neversoft just trademarked Guitar Hero: Sound Test. Sorry readers, our bad.

Note: To clarify, this was written in jest. I know who Joe Perry is guys. ToJo is awesome, we’re poking fun.

New soul withering shots of Silent Hill V

Filed under:

After spotting some brand new Silent Hill V screenshots on the web today, we quickly set about acquiring them ourselves. After instating requesting the aid of an intrepid colleague at Joystiq, we thought we had acquired the images in questions. Alas, we were unable to get the lovely, watermark-free versions of the images, but we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the shots we had acquired seem to be brand new. So, as we endeavor to nab the images we originally sought, enjoy our three brand new images in the gallery below.

Dungeon Hero reemerges with dev diary

Filed under:

> /> /> /> /> >
After apparently (and appropriately) going under ground after its announcement last June, it looks like Dungeon Hero is finally ready to come back on the scene. The game has come to light once again thanks to a new developer diary on GameTrailers. While the video doesn’t contain much in the way of new gameplay footage, we do get to hear at least a little bit about the game’s “gritty” combat and its “living, breathing” dungeon. The game is set to be displayed at GameCock’s EIEIO in Austin, Texas next week, so we should be hearing more about the title very soon.

New GRAW2 achievements means more DLC

For those of you who are still supporting the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter then you’ll be glad to know that a set of eight new achievements totaling an additional 125 Gamerscore have been added to GRAW2. Funny thing about that is can’t unlock them yet.

The list of eight new achievements come straight from the bowels of Xbox.com and correspond to various GRAW2 co-op mission completions as well as killing tasks on any “GRAW 2: CC map”. But know that these achievements are not the same ones released with last year’s GRAW2 Co-Op Collection DLC, these are freshly new and totally unannounced co-op missions. So, that means only one thing to us: more DLC. We expect these new achievements to correspond to another round of paid (or free) GRAW2 DLC that will be making its way to the XBLM soon’ish. You are on alert.

[Thanks, Brad]

Another series of colorful Halo 3 Kubricks

Yet another round of Halo Kubrick love will be releasing later this year when Medicom releases series two of their Halo 3 Kubricks. And just like the first series which came out last year, this set will feature four overly adorable, super attractive Spartan figures, but in white, gold, steel and green armor. The four pack will be available sometime in September and retail for around $20. Also, we’ve been told to keep an eye out for an uber rare orchid colored Spartan Kubrick. Then again, who’d want an orchid colored Spartan? Purple, pink or magenta we could live with … but orchid?

Rocketmen: Axis of Evil rockets to XBLA next week

Capcom and A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games just sent word that their, announced way back in April ‘07, XBLA game Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be gently landing on the XBLA next Wednesday, March 5th. Capcom also included a few new screenshots (galleried below) and from what we can tell, we’re in for some cel-shaded arcade shooter shenanigans. Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will set you back 800 Microsoft points and supports four player co-op locally and over Xbox Live as well as fully customizable character creation. Let’s hear it fanboys, “Rocketmen GO!”

Ikaruga: an announcement postmortem

Filed under:

>
/>
After weeks of solid Xbox Live Arcade releases from such re-envisioned classics as RezHD to new-age addiction like Poker Smash, we can’t help but wonder where one game in particular is. Ikaruga, from Treasure Video Games, has been at the top of our most wanted list since it was announced at the Tokyo Game Show in 2007 but it still hasn’t found its way into our hard drives (currently it’s the only XBLA title announced at TGS07 that has yet to be released.)

Visiting the official product page on Treasure’s website (translated) we know that the game will ring in at 800 MS Points and that it’s set for a winter ‘08 release. With March quickly approaching we can’t help but wonder if Ikaruga will be hitting the Marketplace sometime in the next few weeks. Ikaruga’s XBLA release checks off every major bullet-point for the service, such as: hi-resolution graphics and achievements, as well as added bonuses like 2 player co-op and support for both 16:9 and 16:10 widescreen.

Kotaku ran a story in early January confirming that Ikaruga had made its way to Partner Net, an industry-only beta release of Arcade titles in development, so we’re optimistic the classic shooter will go live very soon.
